Join us as we build on the historical moments of the Women’s March for our new PATH TO POWER initiative: Women and Youth Empower Ohio (WYEO).
WYEO is a social welfare initiative bringing activists in the community together. As we build power and a path towards equity –we must share our innovative ideas and work on campaigns that center marginalized and underrepresented communities. WYEO launches on September 14th, 2018, 6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. at Art Outside the Lines 485 E. Livingston Ave. Columbus, Ohio 43215.
WYEO uplifts incredible work in our very own community and recognizes many who are ready and poised to fight the good fight! Activists and community organizers may not possess all of the resources and tools due to financial limitations. They may also lack access to a seat at the table to continue to serve the community they love. This, unfortunately, leads to apathy and large organizations and big businesses making decisions for neighborhoods in which they know nothing about. Representation matters and those who are from the community, whose children go to public schools and who know their neighbors already have the skills to lead from daily lived experiences.
WYEO is a cultivator for ideas led by women, femmes and youth throughout Ohio working to fight oppression and give back to the people we serve as activists, community organizers, and philanthropists. WYEO is an incubator for initiatives fighting for the most vulnerable among us –that will provide space to come together in solidarity working on issues that impact the greater community at large.
