Columbus Landmarks Foundation
and Friends of Green Lawn Cemetery
are pleased to offer seasonal walking tours featuring the art, architecture, and botanical features of this very special park. Green Lawn encompasses more than 200 years of Columbus, Ohio
history, stories, and architectural preferences, and is home to champion trees, diverse old growth species, and wildlife.
The summer walk will be held on Sunday, July 15 from 2-4 pm.and will be led by historian Doreen Uhas Sauer and naturalist Randy Rogers. We will explore some of the stories behind the numerous obelisks, visit the tiny McCloud and Gay mausoleums, see an unusual homage to the patriarch of a family, and ponder why a certain type of architectural monument was sometimes banned.
Tour begins at the Huntington Chapel, located past the office at the end of the road. Tickets are $10 for Friends of Green Lawn and/or Columbus Landmarks members and $15 for non-members.
